I think your method of installation (requiring "Enable software installation") involves a great security risk. What are you installing - viruses, spyware? Let me download files. Maybe I'll give it a try.

[6] Submitted by: on Saturday March 15th 2003

All the XPI files can be found at http://downloads.mozdev.org/iconpacks/mozilla . Just download one and run it with mozilla.

Thanks for all the feedback :-)

[10] Submitted by: holyhandgrenade on Thursday March 20th 2003

I would like to see first of all a way to change the icon in the taskbar and second of all an iconpack featuring the green lizard icon from the earlier versions of mozilla. Thanks!

I usually use the modern icon pack, but I find that the orangesplash one is quite appealing with the Orbit 3+1 theme... Good stuff. However, will we ever see the skypilot icon pack on here?

[23] Submitted by: Adrián H.G. on Wednesday June 18th 2003

I like Antiseptic Icons. They are very cool.

[24] Submitted by: Henri on Sunday June 22nd 2003

Hello,

the antiseptic icons are great. And it works in Netscape, too! Wonderful. Great Job.

[25] Submitted by: Mozilla Fan on Monday June 23rd 2003

Those orange-splash Icons are great! Finally - with the new splash screen and the matching icons - Mozilla looks like a professional piece of software! (the modern-theme does it's part too)

I'm the third here asking for a pack with the blue or green or teal Mozilla 1.0x lizard icon(s) ?
that curled up lizard was SO nice, wish i could see him curled up with phoenix again :]

[27] Submitted by: enigma on Thursday July 17th 2003

The icons aren't working at all. I have Mozilla 1.3:s

[28] Submitted by: Cusser on Friday July 25th 2003

Changing the system tray icon would require editing the program, or having a function built into it... would anyone be able to code a simple tool to change it?

[29] Submitted by: Down8 on Saturday July 26th 2003

Can't volunterr any code, but I'd like to 'vote' for something to change the quickstart icon as well. I won't use others until I can change them all.

[31] Submitted by: DM on Thursday August 28th 2003

I've had the same problem as Cusser and Down8. So I took the tool ResHack. Search it, install it, use it and you'll see it works!

[32] Submitted by: Morlock on Saturday August 30th 2003

I love the icons, thanks, I've got the orange ones on my Moz 1.4 install, and antiseptic on my new Firebird install.

[33] Submitted by: Anemone on Thursday September 18th 2003

I like the Antiseptic(!) icons. It's clean, legible, and the icons are easy to distinguish from one another. But I would be very thankful if someone ever came up with a set to match my favourite theme, Orbit 3+1.

[34] Submitted by: Florencia Sarasola on Monday September 22nd 2003

[36] Submitted by: Menno on Monday January 19th 2004

I downloaded the Orange Splash icons. They look great, but somehow they only work partially in Mozilla 1.6?
Like the bookmark is still the old modern icon?

[37] Submitted by: Bob on Tuesday January 27th 2004

I love the crystall ball and globe icons. Great work!
I would love to have them install so they appear on the start menu for my default browser and email clients. I have changed the shortcuts on the desktop for now. Anyone know how to do this?

[38] Submitted by: Adam on Tuesday February 3rd 2004

Will we see the crystal ball icons for Windows install anytime? I have it on my Linux install and it's a beauty!
I'd love to get it in my Windows enviroment also! Great Job!

[39] Submitted by: Dude on Thursday February 5th 2004

Is there a way to use the icons in the launch bar on the panel? I want to get rid of the dinosaur and put the cool icon from here.

[40] Submitted by: Bernard on Monday February 9th 2004

I loved antiseptic, now trying brocoli and already love it too. Next one will probably be the orange theme and thats it.
Pity you can only have one set at a time.
Why would anybody want to make mozilla look like IE ?

[41] Submitted by: kevin on Sunday February 22nd 2004

I really want the blue crysral ball for windows... please...

[42] Submitted by: Wiseman on Tuesday February 24th 2004

You can just copy it from Internet Explorer and create a nice Windows icon with any icon editor which supports copy & paste (a rare feature in other operating systems :P XD).

Linux only... like that was a feature.

[43] Submitted by: [web]Seitler on Tuesday February 24th 2004

RE: "Why would anybody want to make mozilla look like IE ?"

Actually, I used those to trick my family into using FireBird... I figured it would be the only way to get them hooked, since they're part of the "blue 'e' means the internet" cross-section of America.

[44] Submitted by: Chris on Wednesday February 25th 2004

[47] Submitted by: chimera on Sunday March 21st 2004

why isn't anyone making icons for HTML files? so far, it seems that people are only making icons for the app itself.

[48] Submitted by: bellavite on Wednesday March 24th 2004

I'm waiting for HTML Files icons too... but based on the default firefox icon!

[49] Submitted by: dsierra@mindspring.c on Friday March 26th 2004

i noticed there is a lot here for WIN,Linux and Solaris but rarely anything for MAC, much les for OS 9 and under.
is there a reason for it???
i hope you realize (unlike Stee Jobs) that no everybody buys the latest and news macs, and that some of us are still using and content with MAC OS 9

[50] Submitted by: me on Friday March 26th 2004

I don't use a mac and I'm not quite sure what file type the icons use. But feel free to convert them for mac os 9 and submit them in - I'll happily add them here :-)

Chris, the Mozilla crystal ball icon for windows can be found at wincustomize in the objectdock icon section.:)

Could someone make a set of GANT or Umicon icons for Moz?
Thanks;)

[54] Submitted by: TazoWolf on Sunday April 11th 2004

I've tried downloading and installing the experimental icons and Crystal Ball icons for Firefox, but when I try and change my icons, I can't find them!!! Where did they go? There were no problems during the download, but it's as though once downloaded, they just vanished. Anyone know where they went?

[55] Submitted by: §croIIock on Monday April 12th 2004

Oh yes. Very nice stuff here...

That's not true. First of all, I only use macs, (i hate windows), asnd I only use Mac os x. I don't see /any/ icon packs for mocs , even under os 9. Where are all of them?

p.s. I love linux. I just think Macs are more convenient.

Will someone email me when the Globe Icons work on Windows????

Would it be possible to just post the actual icon(s) on the site rather than or along side the xpi's? It seems to me, at least, that the xpi is just making it more elaborate than it needs to be. I say this because I just wanted to use one of the icons for a shortcut but can't seem to find the actual icon file anywhere.

[59] Submitted by: - on Sunday May 16th 2004

Re: comment above.

Download the XPI file from http://download.mozdev.org/iconpacks/mozilla . Then open it with any compression utility (eg. WinZip, Ark ...)

Re: comment above. Have a look at and search google for 'mozilla throbbers' or something similar.

Also see , search the page for 'throbber' and you'll find an entry on it.

You will have to go into the chrome/icons/default folder in your FireFox installation folder. So it'll probably be: c:program filesmozilla firefoxchromeiconsdefault . Then delete all the files in there. I'll try adding this info on here soon.

Have fun!

re: comment #62 - Trying again to post a url in comment 62 didn't work, so basically, try this: go to the 'throbbers' project on mozdev (this site!) and search for mozilla throbbers on google
